The latest up and coming local band in Orange County is Redline5. They're as down-to-earth as you can get. Four out of the five band members have grown up on the shores of Newport Beach, while the remaining on came from the sandy beaches of Florida.

Redline5: a modern rock band moments away from being heard all around the country. Their latest album, LIVE AT THE GALAXY captures the intensity and accuracy of the live act that catapulted Mike Greiner, Hunter MacDonald, Chris Kramer, Mike Hamrock, and Scott Kramer into local stardom. The five-piece play an inspired fusion of Southern rock and Seattle grunge, drawing comparisons to platinum-selling artists such as Creed and Soundgarden.

In 1999, members Scott Kramer, Chris Kramer, Drew Engelbrecht and Hunter MacDonald came together through a chance meeting in town. All had played music together as teenagers and were close friends from high school. Attending Corona Del Mar High School, Chris taught Hunter MacDonald how to play the bass guitar. Twins, Scott and Chris Kramer learned all of their musical talent from their father. Their father bought them their first guitars at the age of twelve and they haven't put them down since. Lead singer Mika Greiner joined the band in August of 2000. Scott Kramer states: "when Mika joined the band as the lead singer he brought to the success that we've had and the interest from labels. He was a step above most singers in the business, a born performer." Mika a native from Daytona Beach, Florida, moved to California in pursuit of his singeing career. In May 2002, another hometown friend Mike Hamrock replaced drummer Drew Englebrecht. Hamrock is also from south Orange County and has known the Kramers since elementary school.

Redline5 has been successful in packing the houses at such local venues as the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, the Galaxy Theater in Santa Ana, and the legendary House of Blues in Anaheim. In early 2001 Redine5 had two appearances at New Rock 104 Birthday Bash in Fresno, California, where they played for a crowd of 5500 fans and played with such well-known bands as 311, Phoenix TX, and Hansom Devil. Chris Squires from KFRR states: "they were awesome and the crowd totally loved 'em! It's nice to see a band with this much talent and enthusiasm..."

In addition to these performances, Redline5 opened for The Proclaimers during one stop of their tour at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano. RCA's The Calling, which can be heard on radio stations all over the world, frequently opened for Redline5. The Calling, Something Corporate and Redline5 joined forces for a sold out show at the House of Blues Anaheim in May of 2001. Recently, Dishwalla has requested Redline to open for them on several stops of their tour here in Orange County.
